The Horta Museum is housed in the personal house and studio of architect Victor Horta (1861-1947).
Built between 1898 and 1901 at numbers 23 and 25, rue Américaine in Saint-Gilles, the two buildings are characteristic of Art Nouveau at its peak. The house has largely retained its interior decoration; mosaics, stained-glass windows, murals make up a harmonious and refined whole down to the smallest detail.
